Top Models Often Reinvent Their Rooms

Throughout my travels this year, after meeting with many cam models and studios, I’ve observed a recurring theme among the crème de la crème — in order to stay on top, they often change things up in their rooms.

Top models are constantly re-inventing their shows, often just by making small adjustments that keep loyal members returning for more. Sometimes, the shift can be as drastic as remodeling the entire room they broadcast in, but more often than not, it’s as simple as changing the linens on the bed.

It’s tempting to get into a mindset of ‘if it’s not broke, then don’t fix it.’ But in reality, there is competition every day, from fresh faces, new players.

It’s my belief that new members are great. However, it’s the returning members that make models truly successful with camming. Catering your shows to these members is very important. This doesn’t mean you should abandon your personality in the room. After all, your natural flair is what brought them around in the first place!

But, small alterations can have a huge impact. One of the biggest trends I’ve noticed is a simple one — stringing up lights in various places can make a room really stand out. Models wrap them around the bedposts, make patterns on the walls with them and even go all out with creative art projects inspired by interest-based sites like Pinterest.

Another tip for being extra engaging, is playing games with your members. It’s critical to keep your streaming fun and fresh! If you’re not up for that, then at least stay up to date on current events that your members are interested in, setting up your room with a popular theme — whether it’s the World Cup, the Super Bowl or the latest hot video game characters. This is where knowing your member base is very important.

It’s also helpful to look at your room from the perspective of the members. Many sites record photos from your broadcast, so be sure to use these stills to get a visual of what your members are seeing. You just might notice an opportunity for improvement you wouldn’t normally have paid attention to. Does that table next to you look a bit plain? Add a cool decoration or accessory to it, especially if it’s likely to spark a conversation. Does your white wall have too much blank space? Hang a poster or a painting, to spice up the color palette. Just don’t go overboard, or you might distract members from the real star of the show!

It’s tempting to get into a mindset of “if it’s not broke, then don’t fix it. ” But in reality, there is more competition every day, from fresh faces and brand new players. Keep your show fresh as well by changing up the theme of your room. Remember, this is ultimately an investment in your long-term success. If you look at your show photos from a month ago and they look like what you’re doing today, it may be time to make some changes.

One thing to remember is that members only see a small image of you and that is what they’ll judge you on, so keep it fresh and new. Next time, I will share with you yet another habit of successful models that I’ve learned from my time with the very best in the biz.
